In the series Turnings fragments of ceramic from the Thames foreshore are mounted on a turn table and photographed on a long exposure while they are rotated. This mimics the action of the potters wheel that was first used to make these vessels. The photographic process gives these pieces a ghostly sense of wholeness. There is no post production manipulation to these photographs.
